GCP

GCP

	Das Projekt GCP wurde im Jahre 2001 als Joint Projekt des Netzwerks Earth System Science Partnership (ESSP) gegründet. Das Ziel von GCP ist ein besseres wissenschaftliches Verständnis des Kohlenstoffkreislaufs zu gewinnen, um den Anstieg von Treibhausgasen in der Atmosphäre zu verlangsamen. Mit GCP soll ein vollständiges Bild des globalen Kohlenstoffkreislaufs geschaffen werden, indem biogeochemische und biophysikalische Aspekte sowie anthropogene Einflüsse gemeinsam untersucht werden. Daneben wird versucht, ein für politische Entscheidungsträger aussagekräftiges und relevantes Abbild des globalen Kohlenstoffkreislaufs zu erstellen. Forschungsthemen von GCP Muster und Variabilität (Verteilung im globalen Kohlenstoffkreislauf) Prozesse und Wechselwirkungen (Kontroll- und Rückkopplungsmechanismen) Kohlenstoffmanagement (System Kohlenstoff-Klima-Mensch)
